Achieve optimal health through dietary and lifestyle modifications.
Food and nutrition plays a significant role in our everyday lives. The foods we choose to eat can have a significant impact on our gut and its digestive ability which can affect our overall well-being. Our digestive system has many functions, including the absorption of key nutrients, regulating our immune system and can also impact upon our brain chemistry.
Although we aspire to eat a healthy and balanced diet that may support a healthy weight and digestion; there is constant media bombardment of confusing nutrition advice out there. Understanding the role food and nutrition plays in our individual lives can help us achieve health that is individual to us.
At Temple we aim to help you to optimise your health and nutrition in the following ways:
- Weight maintenance
- Food intolerance
- Nutritional education
WHAT HAPPENS AT MY APPOINTMENT?
At your initial consultation we discuss your reasons for wanting to see a nutritionist. Factors such as your dieting history, suspected food intolerances, relationship with food and gaps in your nutrition knowledge will help us to understand how we may help. You may be required to bring a food diary and be prepared to explore different approaches to food. We will work with you to see how changing your nutrition can positively impact on your health and well-being.
WHEN CAN I EXPECT TO SEE RESULTS?
Obviously, this will depend on your particular issues. You have spent your life until now following specific eating and health behaviours, so altering these lifestyles and eating patterns may take time, effort and persistence on your part. You might find that after 4-6 weeks you have gained the knowledge and confidence to maintain the recommended changes or you might be an individual who requires more time and support, which may take longer.
WHO SHOULD SEE A NUTRITIONIST?
Anybody who has concerns about their weight, the possibility of having a food intolerance or would like to improve their health and well-being by improving their nutritional knowledge, could benefit from seeing a nutritionist.
