Blemish Prone Skin
Clear, flawless skin is our ultimate goal.
The first step in this journey is a skin health assessment that will provide an individual analysis of your skin and facial characteristics. Using our advanced imaging system, along with a visual assessment and taking a detailed medical and lifestyle history, we obtain a clear portrait of the health of your skin. We know that your skin health and appearance has an impact on how you feel about yourself and that everyone has different needs – one cream doesn’t fit all.
WHAT IS ACNE?
Acne is a hormonal condition that affects the sebaceous glands in the skin.
These sebaceous glands in the follicles of the skin become overactive and over-produce sebum. The dead skin cells and the sebum form a plug and blocks the follicle. Bacteria that live on the skin – and which are usually completely harmless – can then infect the plugged follicles. This can cause the surrounding skin to become inflamed and painful, and produce pus, leading to spots, nodules and cysts.
WHAT HAPPENS AT MY APPOINTMENT?
We recommend that you have a skin analysis so that we can tailor a skincare programme to your specific needs. An appointment lasts approximately 45 minutes. During this time, we will take a detailed history of your skin – any previous medical or cosmetic treatments, products you use on your skin, a physical assessment of your skin plus photographs. We use specialised computer software to provide an in-depth assessment on the condition of your skin – this is a useful guide for deciding on treatment and also helps us track your progress.
It’s always good to know what you have used on your skin in the past including any prescriptions from your doctor. You could take your skincare or photos of your products along with you so that our Aesthetic Nurse Karen can see what you are using.
WHERE ARE THE POTENTIAL TREATMENT AREAS?
HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?
There is no charge for a skin health assessment but appropriate treatments / products will be recommended. Prices start at £28 for skincare and £60 for treatments.
WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS?
Results won’t be overnight. Your skin may start to feel better before you can see changes. Generally, you should start to see some improvement in your skin within a few weeks, but we suggest that it may take anything from 2-6 months depending on the underlying issues and the treatments that you receive.
